Memberships

Becoming a BDANT Member

The major benefits of membership are identified below and include representation, professional development, promotion and the ability to network with other building designers.

Members also have access to BDANT services and publications including the BDA Contract of Engagement, BCA Summary Sheets and more. Members also have access to the Building Designers Insurance Policy which is heavily discounted for our members.

A more intangible but very important benefit is that members are contributing to the current and future well-being of the profession, the future of all building designers in the Northern Territory, your future!

Members are part of an extensive information network which includes government, building industry stakeholders, materials manufacturers, national and international design associations and educational institutions. The information provided to members from all these sources is factual, up to date and important.

The benefits of becoming a BDANT Member

REPRESENTATION

The Association maintains a high profile with its submissions to education, government and industry. It is selected to participate on working parties and committees which shape the future of the whole building industry.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Association has a professional development program encompassing state and national magazines, local discussion groups, seminars and conferences. The program aims to provide all building designers with up to date information on changing legislation, building products, construction systems, business practices and more.

Members who participate remain informed about new materials and new building methods and processes. They keep informed about changes to government legislation and regulations as well as modern trends, client and community attitudes and expectations.

NETWORKING

Members who attend meetings and other functions enjoy the friendships which result. Sharing client related stories or design problems can make the sometimes lonely life of small business easier. Anecdotal evidence is that business competitors lose nothing and gain much through mutual recognition and cooperation.

New policies, new materials or methods, and answers to common problems are all things that building designers share when they get together.
